The Guardian Angel Secondary Education Resource Centre in Hamrun, has recently upgraded its outdoor fitness gym. The upgrade, which was partly financed by Bank of Valletta, was inaugurated by President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca in the presence of BOV Chairman, John Cassar White.

The environment of the School is unique compared to mainstream schools with its Resource Centre housing a fully functional Skills Unit made up of a fully equipped Food Lab, a Science Lab, an Information Technology Lab, a Design and Technology Lab and Multisensory rooms.

“Bank of Valletta is justly proud of its CSR programme, which is one of the most extensive on the island,” said Mr Cassar White. “The Bank’s success is derived through the local community and we believe that it is very important to acknowledge this fact by giving something back to society.  It is so important to support entities such as The Guardian Angel School, who provide top quality environment for children with special needs and learning disabilities,” added the Bank’s Chairman John Cassar White.

Commenting during the presentation, Ms Joan Mercieca Head of School said: “The school caters for the personal, social, educational and spiritual development for the children aged between 11 and 16 with a holistic approach.  The donation by BOV will serve as a boost in our constant efforts to improve the lives of the children and their families who avail themselves of our services.”
