John Bundy wanted to replace PBS CEO, but not blessed by Silvio Scerri

Popular TV presenter John Bundy said that he was considering replacing Anton Attard as PBS chief executive officer, but alleged that this was not possible with Silvio Scerri as chief of staff at the Home Affairs Ministry.

Mr Bundy also said that he refused to take a top position at Public Broadcasting services offered by the Nationalist government in 2012 to stick to the promise given to then Opposition Leader Joseph Muscat.

Responding on Facebook to an article published in a Sunday newspaper, Mr Bundy said that in 2012 he had been offered the post of head of radio stations together with the possibility of conducting television programmes.

But he said he had refused the offer because he had promised Joseph Muscat that he would have remained on One TV until the election. “The promise made was worth more than the position I was offered,” he wrote.

He said that he was also considering the position of PBS chief executive officer at PBS instead of Anton Attard, “but with PBS under the claws of Silvio Serri it is difficult for this to happen”.

Mr Scerri has filed a libel case against Mr Bundy for comments given by the latter in connection with the testimony given by Norman Vella in his unfair dismissal case against the Prime Minister.
