The footage with this story shows Malta’s athletes during the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, held yesterday.

Twenty-seven Maltese athletes are taking part.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.

The Maltese flag bearer was athlete Kevin Moore. Gymnastics: Kirsty Caruana, Peppijna Dalli and Andreana Zammit. Judo: Isaac Bezzina, Jeremy Saywell and Marcon Bezzina. Lawn Bowls: John Borg, Leonard Callus, Carmen Spiteri. Shooting: William Chetcuti, Brian Galea, Nathan Lee Xuereb, Eleanor Bezzina. Squash: Bradley Hindle, Daniel Zammit Lewis, Kimberley Borg Cauchi, Colette Sultana. Triathlon: Keith Galea, Danica Spiteri. Weightlifting: Jessica Edge. Wrestling: David Galea, Adam Vella.
