Netherlands World Cup defender Stefan De Vrij believes Lazio is the ideal place for him to develop his career.

The 22-year-old De Vrij was unveiled at the capital club on Thursday, after Lazio won the race to sign the center back from Feyenoord.

De Vrij says he was impressed by Lazio's project, and adds "I can improve a lot here. Lazio was the only club before the World Cup which was really interested in me and I really liked that."

He was greeted by more than 100 fans when he arrived at Rome's Fiumicino Airport at around 1 a.m. on Tuesday.
