The Union Haddiema Maghqudin  (UHM) today expressed its solidarity with the Police over the alleged violent attacks that have taken place against members of the force.

The UHM augured a speedy recovery to those members who have been attacked while carrying out their duties.

The Union said the Police carry out an important role in society to protect the interests of Maltese citizens.

The Union said stiff penalties should be meted out to anyone attacking Police officers and other public officials.

It called for an immediate dialogue with the Home Affairs Ministry in order to ensure that the risks to Police officers are mitigated while they are carrying out their duties.
