Traditionally, the feast of St Bartolomew (San Bert) is held to mark the first rain of the season. The feast is celebrated tomorrow especially in Gharghur.  But help is at hand for all those who are suffering from the heat and humidity of these days. The website Gozo Weather has this to say today: The first rain (is) edging ever closer. The latest maps show that the first rain might be on any day between 28th August and 1st September.  "Maps suggest that the most likely date is next Friday - Saturday night with isolated light - moderate rain showers. "Temperatures will still remain hot but substantially cooler than this weekend's."
