The Maltese government met with Libyan governmental and parliamentary officials early this afternoon. Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and Foreign Affairs Minister George Vella led discussions about developments about the current situation in Libya. In a press release, the government said that the dialogue between all involved parties is the best way forward.  However, Malta will continue to recognize the House of Representatives elected by the Libyan population during the last election.
