Malta Independent Wednesday, 17 September 2014, 21:10 Last update: about 11 years ago

MCast and Domain Academy of Higher Education signed an agreement which will see both sides collaborating to implement a joint Diploma and Degree programme focusing on the iGaming industry.

This collaboration will contribute to bridging the skills gap currently being experienced by the iGaming industry due to the lack of training programmes specific to the same industry.

Domain Academy of Higher Education has recently conducted a general study on the iGaming industry to identify the training requirements in order to address the local skills deficit. It has also designed a framework for a Diploma and Degree programme related to the iGaming industry. Both parties will collaborate to implement such training programmes locally with the possibility of promoting these programmes also internationally.

The aims of the collaboration are to seek EU funds for the implementation cycle of the training programmes, to establish a joint Focus team that should have access to resources of both parties and other entities as the need arises, to create the curriculum including eContent where appropriate and relevant, to seek MQF/EQF accreditation from NCFHE for the training programmes, to decide on the delivery mode with the possibility of utilising virtual learning in conjunction with classroom training, to jointly deliver the training programmes and to seek EU and/or government funds to finance the provision of such training programmes since this collaboration has a direct impact on employability.
