Brothers end up in court after arguing about academic success

29-year-old Jonathan Sciberras was granted bail today after he was charged with injuring his brother, following an argument over who among them did better in school.

The incident occurred last Sunday afternoon in the residence of the two brothers, in San Gwann.

The two brothers started to argue, when allegedly, Jonathan took a knife in his hand to scare his brother, Jean Paul. At that point, Jean Paul attempted to take the knife from him, and accidentally slit his hand.

Defence counsel Jason Azzopardi requested bail, arguing that the accused has a clean criminal record, and the injuries were accidental. 

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €3,000.
