St Margaret’s College gets a substantial book donation

Tuesday, 14 October 2014, 14:54 Last update: about 11 years ago

The National Book Council recently donated a substantial amount of books to St Margaret's College during a short ceremony held in the Cospicua Primary School library attended by the respective heads of schools, college principal Maria McNamara and Chris Agius, parliamentary secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport. The donated books were expressly chosen to target the college's kindergarten classes and will be used for reading sessions in the classroom as well as for individual use by kindergarten students. This donation to St Margaret's College will be repeated next year with a donation of titles ideal for Year One students within the same college, and so forth in consecutive years to come. The initiative's aim is to offer at least one particular generation within the college the possibility to grow in an educational set-up which offers direct access to several quality books. The National Book Council says it is of the firm belief that schools and classrooms should be well equipped with the latest quality titles and is doing its utmost to direct as much funds towards reaching this aim. In fact, this donation is the third of its kind for this year and other similar donations are planned for the near future.
