Finance: national debt increases by three million euros a day – Nationalist Party

Wednesday, 22 October 2014, 17:50 Last update: about 11 years ago

According to recent statistics published by the National Statistics Office (NSO) the national debt has increased by over half a billion euros.

In a press statement, the Nationalist Party said it is concerned about the financial situation of the country, which is crucial for international investment, which ultimately leads to job creation. The PN said that the Nationalist Administration previously got into debt to invest in capital projects such as new schools, airports, arterial roads, and projects to improve water and air quality.

However, the statement continues, the Labour government has only created jobs in the public sector, appointed the largest cabinet in history, and provided high salaries for those close to the party.

The PN said that the Prime Minsiter had promised to control the government’s expenditures, however recent publications show otherwise.
