Robin van Persie scored in the fourth and final minute of injury time to earn Manchester United a 1-1 draw with leader Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Netherlands striker rammed home a loose ball from 10 meters to make amends for his error that helped Chelsea take the lead in the 53rd minute through veteran striker Didier Drogba.

Drogba met a corner from Cesc Fabregas with a towering header that should have been kept out by Van Persie, who was supposed to be guarding the near post.

Unbeaten Chelsea's lead was cut to four points over Southampton but Jose Mourinho's team is now six points ahead of third-place Manchester City, arguably its biggest rival for the title.

Newcastle produced a rousing second-half fightback to beat Tottenham 2-1 in the Premier League on Sunday and further ease the pressure on manager Alan Pardew.

Halftime substitute Sammy Ameobi equalized for Newcastle within seconds of the team kicking off the second half and Ayoze Perez scored his first goal for the club to seal victory in the 58th minute at White Hart Lane.

"I reminded them about the fundamentals of a Premier League game and we came out with a much stronger attitude," Pardew said of his halftime team talk. "I thought (in the) second half, the players were magnificent."

Tottenham dominated the first half but only had Emmanuel Adebayor's 18th-minute header to show for it. With just one win in the last seven league games, Spurs are now three points off the relegation zone.

Pardew was under severe pressure a month ago with Newcastle bottom of the standings, but seven points from the last three games has lifted the team away from danger.

The Magpies' first away victory for seven months looked unlikely after Adebayor deservedly put Mauricio Pochettino's side ahead.

But it was Newcastle which secured victory, with substitute Ameobi making the most of lax defending to start the comeback just after halftime.

"It was a shock because, after that, it all changed in this moment," said Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino. "Seven or six seconds before, all was happiness and there was good energy in the stadium ... But in this moment, I think it was difficult to manage in our head. Our heads had gone and we started to take rash decisions on the pitch."

Things got worse still when another halftime substitute Remy Cabella crossed for Perez to put Newcastle ahead and there was to be no leveler for Spurs as they lost a third league match of the season at home.

?Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen and Ryan Mason all failed with long-range efforts in the first half, before Newcastle left-back Paul Dummett missed an audacious attempt of his own from 40 meters.

?Jack Colback wasted a fine opportunity for the visitors when the normally-reliable Hugo Lloris unconvincingly punched away Moussa Sissoko's cross, before a rare moment of class led to the hosts' breakthrough.

?Last-ditch blocks kept Nacer Chadli and Eriksen at bay, but Mason showed impressive ingenuity to clip in a cross for Adebayor to direct home.

?After the break, five touches and around seven seconds was all it took for Newcastleto pull level, with Eric Dier caught napping from Colback's fine pass which Ameobi rifled home.

?Despite having looked to receive a pass from Sissoko in an offside position, Cabella sent in a cross which full debutant Perez headed home.

?Tottenham thought it had equalized in the 66th when Eriksen caught out Newcastlegoalkeeper Tim Krul directly from a corner, but the linesman indicated the ball had gone out of play before curling back in.
