Gift of Life concerned by Nationalist Party's 'mixed signals' at Convention

Monday, 27 October 2014, 21:46 Last update: about 11 years ago

The Gift of Life Foundation said in a statement it is concerned with the mixed signals that the Nationalist Party is sending out on their position on abortion and euthanasia.

To be "better informed" does not convince us of being the only motive for the discussion, Paul Vincenti said.

The signs are not encouraging and sadly it seems that pro-life persons may no longer rely on the party's unequivocal pro-life stand.

The very fact that abortion and euthanasia are being placed on the agenda for discussion may imply that the Nationalist Party may one day make political issues out of them. This is very disconcerting.

The Foundation was not consulted or included in any of the discussions held so far. This leads us to ask what was discussed, who addressed the convention on these matters and what was decided.

In view of recent developments,  we therefore urge the party to clarify it's current position on life matters, Mr Vincenti said.
