Actavis 2014 LifeCycle challenge collects €122,000 for renal unit

The sheer determination of the participants ofthis year's Actavis Lifecycle Challenge who completed an arduous 2,000 km journey from Fukuoko to Tokyo helped to collect a total of €122,000 for the renal unit. 

Whilst congratulating the athletes for the outstanding sum collected during this annual endeavour,Sergio Vella,Actavis Vice President, Manufacturing, Operationssaid that, "our sponsorship to Lifecycle stems from our commitment to support initiatives that seek to improve the health and the quality of life of certain member of our community." Mr Vella added that Actavis regularly assists non-profit organisations in various philanthropic initiatives in fact it has been sponsoring Lifecycle since 2005.

Throughout the past years the Renal Unit has received millions of euros worth of equipment and services from the previous 15 Lifecycle editions, including kidney machines, air-conditioning for the unit, a haemodialysis reverse osmosis plant, LCD screens for the patients, the services of a dietician and a van to facilitate the provision of evening dialysis services.
