The government has appointed Ivan Falzon as the new CEO at Mater Dei, the Health Ministry said in a statement.

Mr Falzon is taking on the role occupied by Joe Caruana, who has served in the capacity for three and a half years.

In the statement, the Health Ministry said the government had asked Mr Caruana to extend his contract by six months after it expired last April.

The Ministry thanked together with Parliamentary secretary thanked Mr Caruana for his services.
