Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi and his wife Sai Mizzi today filed for libel against Daphne Caruana Galizia for an article she posted this afternoon on her blog titled "This is the Super One journalist Konrad Mizzi has been seeing, and the reason his wife left to China."

The article was accompanied by a photo of Lindsey Gambin, Dr Mizzi's communications coordinator at the Energy Ministry.

Ms Gambin later also filed libel proceedings.

The libel suit was filed barely an hour after the post was uploaded.

The Mizzi couple said the allegations made in the article are defamatory, libellous and untrue.

Lawyers Aron Mifsud Bonnici and Abigail Critien filed the claim for the Mizzi couple, Dr Alex Sciberras that of Ms Gambin.
