Watch: Federica Falzon visits St Catherine's School ahead of Junior Eurovision final on Saturday

Tuesday, 11 November 2014, 10:01 Last update: about 10 years ago

A multitude of red school jumpers and waving Maltese flags were waiting for Federica Falzon as she visited St Catherine's High School in Pembroke. The students had made their own flags and adorned the balcony with a "Welcome Federica" banner - a theme that was going to be repeated later in the day.

Federica was welcomed to the school by the Principal Susan Midolo and other members of staff and taken on a tour. They visited several classrooms, seeing projects, exhibitions and activities that the school proudly showed off, as well as meeting many of the students who chanted "Fed-er-ri-ca" as she completed the tour.

Federica Falzon will be representing Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest to be held on Saturday.

The delegation were shown into the theatre/auditorium and were presented with an inspiring show by the students, including a traditional Maltese wedding (no kissing of the bride in those days!) and a group of excellent dancers who performed to the 2012 Malta Eurovision entry "This Is The Night". As they finished their routine, they all kneeled down on stage to display "GOOD LUCK FEDERICA" made up from letters on the back of their T-shirts.
