Minister Manuel Mallia failed to answer whether members of the Rapid Intervention Unit were ordered to remove the car of Steve Morrison Smith following the shooting incident last week.
The question was put forward by Nationalist MP Jason Azzopardi this morning, during the parliamentary session. However, Dr Mallia merely said, that given the opposition is to put forward a motion of no confidence and an inquiry is to be held, than he will wait before giving answers.
In a statement issued by the Police, the Police Commissioner denied giving any order to move the low loader on which the car belonging to the Scottish man who apparently hit the minister's car had been placed before the magisterial inquiry took place.
Minister Mallia said that members of the Opposition are ‘attacking’ him personally. “You will not taint my integrity, no matter how hard you try,” he told Nationalist MP Jason Azzopardi.
