A public transport bus nearly ended up in a Pembroke ditch this morning after busting through a wall while moving backwards.

The accident happened early in the morning at the Pembroke Park and Ride.

It is not clear if the bus was being reversed at the time or if this was some kind of malfunction that released the parking brakes. The vehicle ended up dangling over the wall and onto the ditch.

No one was hurt. 

Transport Malta said that an investigation has been launched.

In a statement issued, the company stated that it is conducting an internal investigation in order to establish the cause of the accident.

 

Health and Safety officials from Malta Public Transport immediately closed the site of the accident.  No injuries were sustained as a result of this incident.
