November in Malta was warmer and drier than usual but saw the strongest winds ever recorded on the island since 1947, according to data from the Met Office.

A cyclone arrived from the Northwest by West direction on Friday 7th November, peaking at 64 knots.

The average wind speed for the rest of November was 7.9 knots (0.4 knots less than average), mostly from the South Southeast direction.

The warmest day last month was November 6th, when the mercury rose to 25.3°C. The coolest night was November 21st, when temperatures fell to 12.8°C. Overall, the average air temperature for November reached 18.9°C, making it 1.3°C warmer than the month's average.

Sea temperature for November averaged 21.5°C which is slightly warmer than the norm of 21.0°C.

Meanwhile, Malta International Airport recorded 88.6 mm of rainfall last month, which is 13.1 mm less than the November norm. The highest total rainfall ever recorded in November was 420.3 mm in 1999.

Thunder was heard on eight days (3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 25th, 26th and 27th), three more than what is normally expected during this period.

Only one day of fog was recorded, while the level of humidity for November was five per cent more than the norm, reaching 82 per cent.

Malta saw an average of 5.6 hours of sunshine each day, which is 0.4 hours less than normal. In total, the islands enjoyed 169.3 hours of bright sunshine. Meanwhile, the dullest three days (6th, 26th and 29th) recorded no sunshine.
