The majority of The Malta Independent readers agree that following the shooting incident in Gzira on November 19, Home Affairs and Security Minister Manuel Mallia should be sacked by the Prime Minister.
On a poll hosted on the internet portal, this newspaper questioned how the Prime Minister Joseph Muscat should deal with the current situation – if he should sack the minister or support him, reshuffle the cabinet, or accept his resignation if the minister offers it.
A staggering 84.23% answered that Dr Muscat should fire Dr Mallia; while 5.84% replied that the Dr Muscat should do the opposite and support the minister. 5.24% said that Dr Muscat should reshuffle the cabinet and offer Dr Mallia a different portfolio. 4.69% said that if the minister offered his resignation, then the Prime Minister should accept it.
