PN litany of lies

Sunday, 14 December 2014, 08:00 Last update: about 10 years ago

When addressing a press conference, Dr Mario de Marco said that the government was caught lying again because the new gas power station will be ready in June 2016 instead of March 2015.

If a project's completion date is delayed is considered a lie, then the PN has recited a whole litany of lies! How many projects had their original target date delayed, even by a number of years? Mater Dei and the Cirkewwa Terminal are probably the best examples among many others. How about projects which were announced with much fanfare but never materialised? The White Rocks project springs immediately to mind! What kind of lie should be attributed to that phantom PN project?

How about the countless election promises made by the PN over the years which never materialised? Should they not also be considered as lies if one uses Dr de Marco's logic? The reduction of income-tax from 35 per cent to 25 per cent in the first budget of GonziPN in 2008 must be considered as the mother of all lies!
