The Foreign Affairs Ministry this evening denied the scaremongering claims made by "new organisation" Alleanza Bidla. It said the government never gave out incorrect information and its interest was to see unity in Libya.
In reply to this afternoon's press conference by Alleanza Bidla, the Ministry said the government took the same stand as the EU and the United Nations.
Malta is not the only country that has voiced its support to the Tobruk government, said the Minister, citing also Germany, Italy and the UK. Mr Grech Mintoff is incorrect in saying that EU countries recognise the Tripoli-based government.
It also noted that Alleanza Bidla had alleged that the government tried to disrupt the planned Libya visit but then decided, on its own, to postpone it.
The Ministry also noted Alleanza Bidla's declaration that it is not receiving any funds from within Libya. It disagreed with the political groups claim that the government was acting in a stupid and worrying manner and said it would leave it up to people to decide who is really taking the matter seriously and in the best interest of the country.
