Associated Press Monday, 12 January 2015, 16:05 Last update: about 10 years ago

Dozens of people in Mexico City participated in the "No Pants Subway Ride", in memory of the 43 students who went missing from the Ayotzinapa teachers' training institute in September.

"Ayotzi Vive," meaning "Ayotzinapa Lives", was painted on the undergarments of the participants Sunday im memory of the students who went missing at the hands of corrupt authorities and a criminal gang in the southern town of Iguala.

The activists also made allusions to the students with messages painted on their thighs and buttocks.

The "No Pants Subway Ride" in Mexico City, which seeks to mobilize Mexican society on the issue of the missing students, concluded with a mass rally near the National Auditorium.

According to the testimonies of three gang members involved in the disappearance, the Ayotzinapa students were murdered and their bodies were burned at a garbage dump.

However, this version has been rejected by the victims' families, who continue their search for the students.

Human remains found by the authorities were identified by forensic scientists in Argentina and Austria as belonging to one of the missing students.

However, the Argentine experts clarified that there was no proof that the remains were found at the same place that is claimed by the Mexican authorities.
