Bulgarian woman gets conditional discharge for begging on the streets and being a public nuisance

Maria Varbanova, a Bulgarian woman, was conditionally discharged for a year today after pleading guilty to begging and being a nuisance.
Her lawyer explained that in Bulgaria it was not illegal to beg. Another two Bulgarian women were similarly convicted last Thursday.
