Certain parts of Malta are becoming "no-go areas" for Maltese people, Chairman of the Labour Party think-tank IDEAT Aaron Farrugia said today.
Addressing the 2015 PL general conference, Mr Farrugia said the "ghettoisation" of certain areas such as Marsa and Safi needs to be addressed by the government.
Without expressly referring to migrants, Mr Farrugia said the government is trying to integrate people into society, but as the moment they are concentrated in these "no-go areas."
He said Maltese will feel they are no longer welcome in certain areas.
Mr Farrugia also expressed his worry about excessive gambling and its links with poverty.
Labour's CEO Gino Cauchi announced that the Party made a profit of €105,000 during the 2013-2014 financial year.
The consolidated fund now stands at €3,030,910, he said, to applause.
