The Malta Baby & Kids Directory organise monthly workshops

Monday, 9 February 2015, 08:42 Last update: about 10 years ago

The Malta Baby & Kids Directory is organising monthly workshops, aimed at fostering a sense of solidarity within our Malta Baby & Kids community.

Locally, there seems to be a lack of regular networking opportunities for parents of young offspring, who might otherwise feel isolated, to spend quality time with their child, while learning new skills relevant to child rearing, as they meet like-minded peers in a relaxed and social setting.

With this in mind, The Malta Baby & Kids Directory kicked off this initiative with our Parent & Baby movement class last September, which judging by the response, turned out to be a resounding success! Following the positive feedback of this workshop, our host - The Brigitte Gauci Borda School of Dance is now holding regular Tots on the Move classes.

The Malta Baby & Kids Directory workshops are typically held on mid-week mornings. Through restricting the number of participants to no more than two dozen, accompanied by their kids, we ensure a cosy atmosphere where due individual attention is given to each attendee. With the limited attention span of children in mind, the workshops have been tailored to last around 45 minutes, followed by a leisurely coffee morning.

On 29 October, The Malta Baby & Kids Directory held a fully booked Taster to a Paediatric First Aid course, in collaboration with St Bernard's First Aid & Safety Training Institute at The Victoria Hotel. During the month of November, the team at Malta Baby & Kids organised a Parent & Baby Fitness Class at JungleSpirit, San Gwann. Over the mid-December weekend, during Malta Artisan Markets, in the lavish setting of The Grand Ballroom at The Phoenicia Hotel, Malta Baby & Kids set up a Children's Christmas Craft Corner, which proved very popular!

Following the overindulgence of the festive season, The Malta Baby & Kids Directory will be holding our February event aimed at encouraging parents towards a healthier lifestyle. Due to be held on 18 February, at Zasha's in Baystreet, from 10am until noon, entitled Xandru Grech presents 5 Steps to becoming a Fit Mum. All participants will be given the opportunity to try out, for free, the Milon circuit training at Move Gym for one week. For every dozen people interested in joining Move gym, Xandru Grech has pledged to offer a special discounted rate on Milon circuit gym membership during off-peak hours (from 10am to 4pm).

Tickets for Malta Baby & Kids February workshop may be booked through our online shop on www.maltababyandkids.com at a nominal charge of €10 per participating parent and child, which includes a complimentary copy of The Malta Baby & Kids Directory 2014/2015. We encourage all parents to subscribe to our monthly newsletter, in order to keep themselves updated about our upcoming events. We recommend that carers follow us on our maltababyandkids Facebook page in order to receive weekly updates regarding upcoming events and monthly competitions.
