A 42-year-old man from Zebbug, Gozo, is in a critical condition after being hit by a car in Victoria this morning.

In a statement, the police said that the man was hit on Triq L-Ewropa  at about 7.30am by a Peugeot 106 which was being driven by a 23-year-old Victoria resident.

He was taken to Gozo General Hospital where he was certified to be in a critical condition. The duty magistrate was informed and appointed a team to set up an inquiry.
