Monday, 9 March 2015, 13:46 Last update: about 10 years ago

December, 89.7 Bay together with MITA and General Soft Drinks announced the launch of the #StopHate campaign, dedicated to fighting Cyber Bullying. On the day, the song 'Lion Heart' was also released as part of the initiative. Further emphasising the powerful message of the song is a brand new music video, which is to be launched in the first week of March.

Directed, filmed and edited by Neil Darmanin and Chris Carabott, the uplifting tune was recorded by some of Malta's leading singers, who also feature in the music video. These include Gianluca Bezzina, Yazmin Helledie, Muxu and Janice Debattista. Also taking part are other music artists such as Carlo Gerada, Shaun Abdila, Luke Grech, Kersten Graham, Paul Torpiano and Melchior Busuttil.

The song, together with the music video, continue to highlight the main message of the #StopHate campaign, as well as bring much needed attention to the possible dangers that could be encountered online. Featuring many DJs from 89.7 Bay, the music video specifically portrays the consequences of cyber bullying, and also encourages those in such situations to speak up without having to be afraid.

Sponsors of the #StopHate Campaign include InterContinetal Malta, Times of Malta, Air Malta and also Ministry for Education and Employment, the Ministry for the Family and Social Solidarity, the Ministry for Social Dialogue, Consumer Affairs and Civil Liberties, Be Smart Online, Water Services Corporation, KidsMalta.com and Agenzija Zaghzagh.
