Monday, 9 March 2015, 14:27 Last update: about 10 years ago

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, accompanied by Education and Employment Minister Evarist Bartolo and the ETC Chairman Clyde Caruana, this week paid a visit to the MaltaPost Head Office in Marsa.

They were greeted by MaltaPost Chairman Joseph Said as well as the CEO Joseph Gafa' and the Board of Directors.

MaltaPost is one of a select number of companies that has agreed to host placements of young workers under the Youth Guarantee Programme.  This programme offers employers the opportunity to evaluate potential employees prior to their engagement, thus facilitating prospective recruitment.  Through this scheme, MaltaPost gave 16 young workers the opportunity to experience work within the company for a period of 12 consecutive weeks.

MaltaPost subsequently retained a number of these young workers at the end of their work exposure, for a further traineeship period of six months against European Social Fund.
