A process is currently underway to draw up a film industry cooperation agreement between Malta and China. Dr Zammit Lewis also announced that a Chinese production is to be shot in Malta for the first time - Sonata Malta.

The minister said that since the beginning of last year, the Film Commission would have invested around €1 million in training for Maltese workers and artistes.

In this context, he said that the Malta Film Fund was being revised and the fund now had a total allocation of €250,000.
