Romanian man again admits to theft from Sliema shop

Romanian Barbu Costiga, a man who earlier this week pleaded guilty to the theft of perfumes, again appeared in court today, this time charged with the theft of multiple clothing items.

Mr Costiga, 33, was given a suspended sentence on Monday, and today he was charged with theft from a Sliema shop. The man admitted to stealing a number of T-Shirts, costing around €33 each. as well as other items.

Mr Costiga was handed a suspended sentence - jailed for a year suspended for two - with the court taking into consideration that he had repaid the shop owners.

 

The case appeared before Magistrate Carol Peralta with Police Inspector Jason Sultana prosecuting. Lawyer Roberto Montalto appearing for the defence.
