31 public officers were suspended from their duties due to criminal proceedings against them, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said in Parliament yesterday.

The suspensions cover a two-year period spanning 9 March 2013 to 8 March 2015, Dr Muscat said in reply to a PQ by PN MP Mario de Marco.

12 public officers were fired after having been found guilty of criminal acts.
