The head of the public service, Mario Cutajar, announced that as from October, the University of Malta and Mcast will be offering more courses for public officers which will eventually lead to a better public service offered.

He was speaking during a graduation ceremony where 56 public officers were presented with certificates after they successfully ended their Diploma in Public Management course and foundation course in customer care.

Public officers can sit for a masters or degree. Some of the courses tackle public administration, public policy and project management.

The CDRT – responsible for training and development - will be providing placements for University students who will be following up courses tied to the public service so that they can conduct research as part of their course.
