Prime Minister Joseph Muscat this morning said that he is happy with the work of Environment Minister Leo Brincat and is not considering other options.

Labour MP Marlene Farrugia this morning said she is prepared to offer her services for the portfolio, in the wake of growing public outcry against the government’s plans for a new university at Marsascala and the idea to develop a cruise liner terminal and luxury apartments in Gozo.

Mr Brincat has been under fire for not opposing the university project which will be built on virgin land in an outside development zone. He was one of three ministers who defended the project in a press conference held after the Opposition visited the site of the university project and accused the government of destroying agricultural land.

Asked by The Malta Independent whether he is considering her offer, Dr Muscat said that the choice of ministers is the prerogative of the Prime Minister.
