Career fraudster Annabelle Camilleri Monreal pleads guilty of theft

Career fraudster Annabelle Camilleri Monreal today pleaded guilty theft, with yet another crime to add to her list.

She admitted to the theft of items worth €4,490 from a residence in St Julians. She posed as a maid and was hired to clean an apartment in St Julian’s, however ended up committing theft. She was sentenced to two years imprisonment, suspended for three years and ordered to pay the aforementioned amount to the victim.

Previously she had pleaded guilty to renting an apartment in St Paul's Bay for a couple of days, made a copy of the key and later took a man to show him the apartment for rent. He paid her €600 as deposit and another €400 to rent the apartment for a month. In court, the accused pleaded guilty to defrauding the man, relapsing and breaching the conditions of a previous release.

She was also responsible for the Gozo farm houses scam in 2013.
