A 16-year-old youth was remanded in custody after he admitted to a string of thefts mostly from tourists, the police said.

The youth was arraigned this morning after weeks of investigations conducted by the Criminal Investigations Department.

He was accused of 15 thefts hotel rooms and other touristic venues.

The police said they had intensified investigations into thefts from tourists, including from hotel rooms.
