A 55-year-old woman from Cospicua is in danger of losing her life after she found herself in difficulty whilst swimming in the area known as it-Toqba, in Vittoriosa.

Preliminary investigations by the district Police showed that the woman had jumped in the sea and for some reason found herself in difficulty. She was brought ashore by persons who were in the area and was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for medical treatment.

She was later found to be in a critical condition.
