Courses for care assistants at St Vincent De Paul will be accredited by the University of Malta, the Parliamentary Secretary for Active Ageing Justyne Caruana announced today.

Dr Caruana said the 4-month full-time course will be made up of both theoretical and practical elements.

Seven weeks of the course will be dedicated towards theory lessons and the following seven months will see students on a work placement in wards.

Those completing the course will be awarded 14 ECTS credits, which can go towards completing a diploma or degree at the University of Malta.

Applications for the course can be found online at www.activeageing.gov.mt.
