A manifestation of solidarity at the August Moon Ball; funds to be donated to the MCCF

As is the tradition on the first Saturday of August, The Malta Community Chest Fund organised another edition of the Ball of the August Moon at Verdala Palace. Over 1,000 people attended this event, with their aim being that of helping and supporting the Malta Community Chest Fund while enjoying the evening in the majestic ambience that Verdala Palace has to offer.

During her opening speech, the President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, President of Malta thanked Marchesino Daniel de Petri Testaferrata as Chairman of the Organising Committee who together with the rest of the Organising Committee ensured that the evening was organized to perfection. The President explained how, since its inception over sixty years ago by Governor Laycock, the Ball of the August Moon is organised to raise the much-needed funds for the Malta Community Chest Fund so that it can then help Maltese and Gozitans who would need specialised care against cancer and other chronic diseases.

The President also thanked and showed appreciation to all those who attended the 2015 edition of the Ball of the August Moon, because with their presence at the Ball, they were contributing to the fund, thus ensuring that help is given to all those who will need it.

Those present were entertained thanks to the Band of the Armed Forces of Malta the Band of the Malta Police Force, George Curmi (Il-Pusé) and his Band and Mr Pierre Cordina.

The Ball of the August Moon was also attended by the Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and Michelle Muscat.
