A 42-year-old nursing aide today pleaded not guilty to slightly injuring a 92-year-old resident when he slapped him.
George Michael Spiteri was arraigned in court after an investigation by the police, following a report which was sent to the Ministry of Family and Social Solidarity.
The man started working as a nursing aide in 1989. He is now on forced leave.
Magistrate Ian Farrugia granted him bail, ordering him not to talk to any relatives of the victim.
Inspector Joseph Mercieca prosecuted. Franco Galea and Lucio Schriha appeared for the accused.
