It is one of life's unexpected turns when CHRIS AND MOIRA were approached by a production company to use the track No Turning Back as the soundtrack of a short movie.
It was unexpected because the song is not from their latest album ninety nights and a Monday but from their previous album Uncivilised that was released in 2007. This means the news came at a time when CHRIS AND MOIRA did not have the promotion of No Turning Back as their priority at present.
The news was also a surprise because the short movie project that will have No Turning Back as its soundtrack is itself part of a larger feature film project that will have other works by CHRIS AND MOIRA as part of its music component. It is therefore news that there is other news in the medium term.
The short movie will be called cheat. and it will be released towards the end of October. It features Italian actor Diego Antolini and an actress that will be casted in the coming days in Malta. Other actors who took part in an acting workshop in Malta a couple of months ago will also be part of this project. From what is known by the band till now cheat. will to some extent convey the same message as the song No Turning Back.
The song is about disappointment and dilemma about the turning of things around us. Citing the chorus of No Turning Back is a good way to go to understand what is the message it shares with the listener.
