Addressing journalists at the Malta Tourism Authority in the presence of MTA CEO Paul Bugeja, singer and guitarist Lord Graham Russell said: “Here we are, 40 years later, still performing and having fun”.

Both Lord Russell and lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock met on 12 May, 1975 during the first day of rehearsal of "Jesus Christ Superstar" in Sydney, Australia. They become interested friends for their common love for The Beatles and singing and that is when the band was set up.

Quoting fellow band member Hitchcock’s words, Lord Graham Russell said that “we never made mistakes because we did not know what we were doing but today we know what we are doing and we are good at what we do”.

The two said that they were impressed at Malta’s hospitality in the few hours they were here. They landed in Malta some five hours ago.

The band is well-known for their single ‘Lost in Love’ which became the fastest selling single in the world. The second single was ‘All Out Of Love’ and went up in the charts even quicker.

The albums ‘Lost in Love’, ‘The One That You Love’, ‘Now and Forever’ and ‘The Greatest Hits’ sold in excess of 20 million copies.

They will be performing hits such as ‘Just as I am', ‘Two Less Lonely People In The World', ‘Even The Nights Are Better', ‘Lonely Is The Night', ‘Good Bye', ‘Making Love Out Of Nothing At All' and so much more during their Malta concert.

Asked by this newsroom whether they intend releasing a new single some time soon, Lord Russell said that they would be releasing their new single ‘I Adore You’ in two weeks’ time.

The organisers said that an important football game will be played on the same night as the concert, urging concert-goers to go early to avoid traffic.

The parking fees will go towards Caritas. For tickets one may call 9982 1250.
