14th edition of Strummin' in aid of St Jeanne Antide Foundation next month

Wednesday, 23 September 2015, 13:38 Last update: about 10 years ago

What do Daft Punk, One Republic, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Whitesnake, Chuck Berry and U2 have in common? Well, apart from being some of the top rock/pop artist, their songs are all part of this year's Strummin' set list. Of course more artists will feature in this much-awaited yearly event! This year's edition, entitled Strummin' - What a Feelin', will feature a long list of classic hits.

In its 14th edition, Strummin', Żgħażagħ Ħaddiema Nsara's biggest project, ensures an unforgettable night filled with sounds from a band, accompanied by a guitar ensemble of around 60 guitarists, polished to perfection to emulate some of the greatest contributors to music after months of preparation.

As in previous years, all proceeds will endorse a worthy cause. Last year event collected funds for Dr Klown. This year's proceeds will go towards supporting St Jeanne Antide Foundation and their SOAR (Surviving Abuse with Resilience) programme which is aimed at victims of violence in families and relationships.

Strummin's big ensemble includes musicians and singers from diverse backgrounds and musical experiences. Newbie musicians and singers rub shoulders with more experienced ones to deliver a feel good show to an ever-increasing audience.

Testamant to Strummin's increasing profile was its inclusion in two top events this year: the Farsons Great Beer Festival and recently in Rockestra as the sole supporting act in the event. The event, hosted by Luke Dalli and Ronald Briffa, will be held at Sir Temi Zammit Hall, University of Malta at 8pm on 9 and 10 October.

The event is being supported by The Sound System and Yamaha Music. Strummin' is powered by XFM 100.2
