A delegation from Alternattiva Demokratika, including Secretary General Ralph Cassar and Chairperson Prof. Arnold Cassola, yesterday visited the University Freshers' week.  

Prof. Cassola said: "The presence of so many active student organisations on campus is a benefit not only to the university itself but to Maltese society in general.  The contribution of Maltese students to scociety in the field of research and innovation was witnessed last week during the "Science in the City" activities.  

Today, the multi-faceted interests of the student organisations here present are living proof of
students' crave for knowledge, of their intent of bettering their analytical skills and of furthering the basic values of life, which are necessary to counterbalance the general urge for crass materialism, which today's society promotes".
