50 cases of HIV and one case of Aids in 2015; spike in numbers over the previous year

There are a total of 50 people infected with HIV and one person infected with Aids, Health Minister Konrad Mizzi told parliament tonight.

Dr Mizzi said that 45 of those infected were male, and 6 females. The figures were a sharp increase from the previous year when there were 39 people infected with HIV and four people infected with Aids. The figures have gradually increased over the years.

The table below shows the incidence increase over the years. The table is broken down according to sex, sexual orientation, drug use, hemophiliacs and unknown causes.
