A gift given by her Majesty the Queen to Deputy High Commissioner to Malta Jon Knight during her visit to Malta two weeks ago was stolen within hours, The Malta Independent has learnt.

The gift was a pair of cufflinks that were given to Mr Knight during one of Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting’s events. A few hours later, however, they had gone missing.

The Deputy Commissioner was extremely disappointed when he found out that the cufflinks had gone missing, since the token was to be a precious memento of the Queen’s visit.

This newsroom is informed that a police investigation is still ongoing and that Mr Knight himself is making sure that he gets some concrete answers.

This newsroom also tried to get comments from the Deputy High Commissioner himself but a spokesperson from his office said that since the matter was a private one, he would rather not give any information.
