A worker was injured earlier today when a high-pressure hose aboard the ship he was working on burst. The incident took place at around noon at the Cassar Shipyards in Marsa.
People said a loud noise that sounded like an explosion. Emergency vehicles, including an ambulance, were sent to the area. Police Crime Scene Investigation vehicles also showed up on site some minutes later.

A police spokesperson said the man was working inside the sea water tank of a vessel berthed in the facility when a high-pressure pipe burst injuring the man. It is understood that the man hurt his back but his injuries are not thought to be serious.
Cross Road in Marsa was closed but has now been reopened to traffic.
