A 14-year-old girl from Milan was raped for more than a year by a friend of her family’s who told her that she was possessed by the devil and needed to be purified, Italian media report.

The 42-year-old man from Naples has been arrested on charges of aggravated sexual violence.

Italian media report that the man used to threaten the girl that he would have killed her parents if she did not comply. The girl finally found the courage to speak up about her ordeal and the man was arrested.

A police search in the man’s home yielded manuals related to satanic rites.
