The first-ever participation of Malta in the European Waterpolo Championships in Belgrade has generated public interest, mostly among the fans of the game but also in others who do not follow the sport regularly.

So far, Malta’s results have been three heavy defeats against France, Croatia and Serbia, and enthusiasts now away the second stage of the competition in which Malta could obtain better results.

What is intriguing is the venue where all the matches are being played, the Kombank Arena.

The swimming pool is not a permanent fixture, but one that was specifically built for the occasion in just one week.

The structure will be removed when the event is over and the arena will continue to be used for other purposes, not only sport.

Watch the one-minute video above to find out how the swimming pool was built in one week.
